I am running Win 2003 SP3 and it's a 64bit machine. Any ideas. I've done it on two similar servers I still can't get php to display. - Marequi

how to get rid off the security error...

Hello guys! It is an absolutely great tutorial, however one more thing should have been mentioned. You have to give IWAM_ and IUSR_ read and execute rights (you do not give write permission unless you really need it!) to the c:/php5 folder or wherever you installed php. You also have to make sure, when you set the folder rights, click on the checkbox there to apply settings on all files and subfolders in the php5 folder, otherwise the files will not get the settings properly. After these you should not see the login popup anymore. - Ayac

UserID/Password Challenge

==========================================
written by Dylan, August 30, 2008

It asks me to type in a username and password Can anyone help?

==========================================

I had the same problem. Turned out I had to set permissions on the PHP5 folder and it's contents. For that folder, give IUSR_XXXXXXXX (or whatever your website user name is) full permissions. Hope that helps someone.

Thanks for this tutorial. This gave the extra confidence to get things working. Many thanks.. only thing I would have done differently is stressed that someone needs their webserver to be working to at least get to this stage. - Nathan

To keep the next guy from bumping his head repeatedly as I have... Permissions are key... You must also grant permission to the php.ini for IUSR_servername and IIS_WPG... After I did that everything works perfect!!! Thanks for the tutorial guys!!! - RaVeN
