In this Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 tutorial we get an introduction to using variables and constants using a console application as we did in previous lessons.. Think of a variable as a container this has nothing in it. We can fill the container with something, empty it, and replace it with something else all we want. In other words 'Variable' is named because the data you hold in it can vary. On the other hand, a constant is a container just like the variable, but you cannot keep replacing what you put in there. It is, as the name suggests, constant.
