I have one additional questions. Can I do this installation on windows XP. Since I already have IIS 5.1, PHP5 and MySQL 5 on the machine, what would need to be changed in your procedure to do it on this XP machine?

Thanks, WCW

Forgive me if my previous post shows up, but when I try to acces it, I'm getting a 404 error.

So here it is again. Simply, can I do this Joomla installation on Windows XP, running IIS 5.1. I'm already got PHP and MySQL and the GUI tools installed. Also phpMySQL.

Are there any specific instructions you might give?

Thanks, WCW

Hi
It seems someone in here has the needed knowledge on how to make a working installation of Joomla 1.5.3 on windows servers...So in the hope of solutions I put this question up for any ideas you might want to share...

The intallation - actually two in two different servers - runs pretty well. Except for two annoying items: The search and the polls.

The both results in a CGI error - something like The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

Eg. the poll: When done thinking the system returns the cgi-error. If you hit the back-key and returns to the site it has produced a long list of repeated messages like 'Your vote has been received.'

Any search has the same cgi-error as result.

On the same servers I have j1.0.15 installations that works without complaint...

It doesn't seem to an php-issue as the error appears on both ver. 4.4.0 and ver.5.2.3

I do not have acces to the php-ini file - and the sites have Safe mode on... I've not been able to convince my hosting-company to change these settings...

Any suggestions will be welcomed!

Thanks

Claus

Thanks for the nice videos.
I installed PHP 5.2.6, MySQl 5.1.11 and Joomla 1.5.4 on a Co-located Windows 2003 server.

Everything went just fine until I got to the Joomla pre-installation check and it is saying MySQL Support NO, system does not meet the minimum requirements for installation.

Not sure what I did wrong. Please help,
Thanks,
Kent

Ok, I got it working, had to add C:\PHP5 to the windows PATH environment variable.

Not sure if that was in your video, if not maybe you can add it.

Thanks,
Kent
