Just wanted to say hi and to let you know that the video's for getting Joomla set up from start to finished for my server worked flawless with your tutorials. Installed PHP, MYSWL, Then Joomla 1.5.6 or 1.5.7 on the first shot.
(Using the video on installing Joomla 1.5RC4 was the one I had used to install either one of them. Minor difference between the three but worked the same for me to get it up and running.)The one thing that would have been nice as well after I had installed that I realized that there was a section for a smtp server for sending out email like for user who want to register and some want to get a reply back with the user name and password that they had used to create the account in Joomla.
When I was looking through the sections at joomla.org to see if there was a way of creating such a thing with what is given with Windows 2003 enterprise edition. I had found a built in SMTP server application. But it is not really helpful in setting a email server up to a single account that can do email sending for the login's or notifications. I had found on another site the information for the pop3 and smtp information for hotmail, yahoo, aol, etc here
http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/tips/mail-settings.html to do that for email clients but nothing that can be linked to joomla on a single server with an smtp client.
I know your know the creator of joomla. But if we could find a way of getting around this and have it for others who do want this nice feature it would be nice. ANd I want to say fantastic work on the tutorials for joomla. They are very helpful for those who never configured joomla before in their lives.
Regards,
