VideoTutorialZone dates back to the early 2000's, and was a unique resource to get free high quality video tutorials on a variety of tech needs. With time, the site withered away, and youtube grew and grew, as did sites like Udemy and Lynda. I am now bringing the site back, starting mostly with Text Tutorials, but will eventually start adding correspnding videos that offer the same kind of quality you get on the paid sites, but for free.

Resources:

Throughout the tutorials on this site, I use various services. Here is a list of some that may be of interest:

Virtual Private Servers:

InterServer VPS Services, offering great servers starting t $6 per month.

Domain Name Registration

NameCheap, is the registrar I use. They offer gret prioces, a simple interface, free privacy services, and very fast DNS.

Password Management.

When you are dealing with servers, it is essential to use very strong psswords that are impossible to remember. So it is essential to have a great password manager, and a good one can be had very inexpensively, and is one of the best time saving investments you will make.

NordPass, the same guys that make NordVPN have a fantastic password manager.

VPN

While not an absolute must, if you are ever working on an open or shared network, remember, you are dealing with servers, so you really should be using a good and fast VPN. It seems these days that the two big players are Nord and Express VPN. At one time, Express edged our Nord in terms of secrecy guarantees, but that is no longer the case. The reality is that Nord VPN has many more servers, and is significantly faster than Express.

NordVPN has. dirt cheap 2-years plan with a 30 day money backguarantee.
